Pontiac elevator corn moisture maximum today. max 18.0 percent moisture.
Labor Day Holiday plans. We have a few asking if we will be open for dumping corn on Monday. We will make a decision on Saturday on the plan and schedule for elevators.
Local rain showers this week slowed down the beginning of harvest. Moisture levels anywhere from 16 to 24 percent, but very little harvested this week. The grain markets rallied Friday, some part of it is the lower yield reports coming out of Illinois and expectation of lower USDA national corn yield later this year by some private analysts.
GRAIN DRYERS AT PONTIAC ELEVATOR
We are waiting for the new grain dryer to be completed at the Pontiac elevator. Right now, we are unable to dry any corn--with the old or the new dryer. The new dryer is there, however, wet and dry legs, conveyors, electrical, needs to get completed and this feeds both dryers. We have been advised that it may be until September 18th before we can use the grain dryers.
